Many thanks to everyone in the parish and schools who've supported the Bracknell Food Bank NB And special 2013 thanks to all in St Francis Primary. Each week, a Year gathered items to send over to the Food Bank (a Good Idea for other schools next year). |

As part of our outreach to those in need, we
started to contribute to this good cause in October 2012, with the Primary School
adding a special Harvest collection. Together we've taken dozens
and dozens of bags and boxes over to the Kerith Centre - and it's good that
people bring things along each weekend to go in the box in the narthex.
Here's our leaflet which people took home and pinned up as a reminder.
They also offer additional support to help break the cycle of poverty, putting people in touch with relevant agencies who can offer further support. The Foodbank partners with front-line care professionals, who identify
people in crisis and give them a voucher. On taking their voucher to the
Foodbank Centre, people receive a warm welcome, a hot drink and a foodpack. Food is donated by the people in the
area (see the food list on the right).
Volunteers sort and pack the food into foodpacks. Each foodpack contains
enough food for 3 days.
